    Back-Shu of the Heart 心. Front-Mù pair: REN-14 Jù Què.

    Location

    1.5 cùn lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of T5.

    Actions

    • Tonifies Heart Qi, Yīn and Blood
    • Calms the Shén and settles mania
    • Clears Heart Heat
    • Regulates Heart Blood

    Indications

    Insomnia, palpitations, poor memory, mania, night sweats, epilepsy.

    Classical Shén-calming point. Moxa cautiously — nourishes Heart Yin/Blood.

    Needling technique

    Oblique toward the spine, 0.5–0.8 cùn. Do not needle perpendicularly.

    Moxibustion

    Only gentle indirect moxa when Heart Yáng is clearly deficient. Contraindicated in Heart Fire or Yīn deficiency with heat.

    Cautions

    Pneumothorax risk. Avoid strong stimulation in anxious or hyper-aroused patients.

    • REN-14 Jù Què — Front-Mù of the Heart
    • BL-44 Shén Táng — outer-line 'Hall of the Shén' for insomnia and grief
