    Location

    1.5 cùn lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of T11.

    Actions

    • Tonifies Spleen Qi and Yáng
    • Resolves Dampness
    • Nourishes Blood and holds Blood in the vessels
    • Raises Spleen Qi (prolapse, chronic diarrhoea)

    Indications

    Digestive weakness, Damp, chronic diarrhoea, oedema, fatigue, poor appetite, bruising.

    Foundational tonification point — moxa is often more effective than needling.

    Needling technique

    Oblique toward the spine, 0.5–0.8 cùn.

    Moxibustion

    Ideal target for direct or indirect moxa in Spleen Qi/Yáng deficiency, chronic Damp and cold-type digestive disorders.

    Cautions

    Pneumothorax risk if angled laterally. Reduce stimulation in Damp-Heat patterns.

    • LR-13 Zhāng Mén — Front-Mù of the Spleen and Huì-meeting of the Zàng
