The Complete Medi-Chi Library: Every Book You Get Free with an Annual Subscription

Scope note: This article explains the ebook and cookbook inclusions that come with an annual Medi-Chi subscription. It is not medical advice and does not replace clinical training or professional judgement.
A library built around the clinic
An annual Medi-Chi subscription is A$149.99/year. One of the less obvious perks is that it unlocks the entire published library — every book we have released so far — at no extra cost. That includes the classical texts, the modern clinical commentary, and the seasonal cookbooks. If you bought each one individually, the bill would be a lot higher.
Here is what is waiting in your account the moment an annual subscription is active.
1. The Modern Nèi Jīng
The Modern Nèi Jīng is a plain-English retelling of the Huáng Dì Nèi Jīng — the Sù Wèn and Líng Shū — with clinical commentary for modern practice. It currently covers 27 chapters, from longevity and lifestyle to autoimmunity, complexion, sleep, and digital stress.
Each chapter keeps the classical reasoning intact but translates it into the language of 2026. Pinyin and Chinese characters are preserved where they carry diagnostic meaning, but the reading flow is English-first.
2. The Modern Shāng Hán Lùn — all three volumes
The Shāng Hán Lùn is Zhòng Jǐng's cold-damage classic. We have rendered the full received text across three volumes:
- Volume I: Tài Yáng — clauses 1–178, the exterior patterns and the opening formulas.
- Volume II: Yáng Míng & Shào Yáng — clauses 179–272, the interior-transformation and half-exterior/half-interior layers.
- Volume III: Tài Yīn, Shào Yīn & Jué Yīn — clauses 273–398, the deeper Yin-stage disorders and the closing chapters.
Every clause includes English-first commentary, formula breakdowns, and Australian scheduling notes where relevant. Start with Volume I if you are new to the text, or jump straight to Volume III if you already know your Tài Yáng from your Jué Yīn.
3. The Modern Bardo
The Modern Bardo is not a clinical manual — it is a contemporary rendering of the Tibetan Book of the Dead, offered in three tracks: Living, Clinical, and Traditional. It is designed for practitioners who want to talk about death, dying, and transition with patients in plain language, and for anyone who wants to bring those teachings into daily life.
Turn This Knowledge Into a Treatment Plan
Enter any Western diagnosis and get a complete TCM treatment protocol — acupuncture points, herbal formulas, moxibustion, cupping, and gua sha recommendations.
The text is watermarked, fully sourced, and includes a dedicated citations section for every chapter.
4. Seasonal TCM Cookbooks — Winter & Summer
The Winter and Summer cookbooks are pattern-led recipe collections built around TCM dietetics. Each recipe is tagged to the pattern it suits — Spleen Yang deficiency, Damp-Heat, Blood deficiency, summer-heat, and so on — so you can match food to the patient rather than the other way around.
Both cookbooks are included free with an annual subscription. Non-subscribers can buy each one for A$14.99.
What the subscription actually costs
- Annual: A$149.99/year — library included.
- Monthly: A$29.99/month — books are available as separate one-off purchases.
If you are planning to stay for the year, the annual plan pays for itself quickly once you factor in the books.
How to access the books
Once you are on an annual plan, each book appears unlocked in the relevant section of the app. You can read online immediately. The Modern Nèi Jīng also comes with downloadable PDF/EPUB masters, and the cookbooks unlock recipe PDFs.
If your subscription lapses, access to the locked reader pages pauses — but any downloads you have already saved remain yours.
Who this is for
- Practitioners wanting a portable classical reference.
- Students studying for board exams or clinical placements.
- Educators looking for plain-English source material to share with cohorts.
