    Whiplash (Whiplash-Associated Disorder)

Also known as: whiplash-associated disorder, WAD, neck strain after car accident, acceleration-deceleration neck injury

Whiplash is a neck injury caused by a sudden back-and-forth movement of the head, most often in a car accident. In Chinese medicine it is seen as a sudden injury that blocks the flow of Qi and Blood in the neck channels. Acupuncture and gentle manual care are used as an adjunct to medical assessment and graded exercise.
